How can one embrace environmental responsibility?
Embracing social and environmental responsibility is not merely a trend, but a timeless commitment to our world.
It reflects one's values, a statement of elegance and grace in a world often marred by neglect and indifference.
It involves making sustainable choices, reducing waste, and protecting the precious resources that sustain life on Earth.
It is a harmonious dance with nature, a symphony of balance and respect.
In navigating modern life, it's crucial to uphold environmental responsibility. Let's aim to embody the change we want to see, leaving a legacy of kindness and stewardship for future generations. Rather than prioritizing profit, let's advocate for a fairer, more sustainable world.
Plastic Free Pledge
We're a UK business that witnesses the effects of plastic use daily. While cleaning up London or the world in a day is a massive task, we can definitely contribute to reducing plastic use.
We understand that cloth and paper alternatives may cost more to produce and ship, but it's important to us to provide plastic-free options for our customers.
We have started this process already and pledge to remove plastic packaging from our products.
Responsible Forestry
Deforestation is something that we’re very worried about. Even though it may seem strange coming from a furniture company, at Lavergne, we make sure to practice responsible forestry to help trees thrive while supporting generations of artisans.
We are committed to using wood from commercial regenerative plantations to create high-quality, handcrafted furniture. Our solid mango furniture is made from trees that have finished their commercial life producing mangoes, utilizing waste material that would otherwise be discarded.
All the timber is EUTR compliant with responsible forestry.
This pledge has never been more relevant and still stands strong.
Fabric Compliance
All the fabric we use in our furniture products has been tested to comply with the very latest Fire-Retardant Standards for BS5852 by our suppliers.
Every item will have the necessary hanging tags and also has a stitched in label.
Lead Free Furniture
Our suppliers use paint and other finishes lead-free.
The finishes are also added to the furniture in enclosed booths that ensure that the atmosphere is not contaminated with the particulates that can be emitted.
Furniture Protection
Our suppliers use Biflex TC to safeguard our products from termites. Biflex ensures extended termite protection in an eco-friendly manner. It forms an invisible termite barrier for your peace of mind and investment security.
Carbon Footprint
Our suppliers do not use air freight to ship any of our goods from our factories in India.
They use sea freight to move our containers around the world. This is the most efficient method we can use for our mix of products but we acknowledge that there is still much more that the shipping lines can still do to reduce their own carbon footprint.
The carrier companies used for deliveries from our UK Distribution Centre are striving to reduce their own carbon footprints.
By using wood from trees at the end of their fruit growing life, we remove the need for them to be burnt.
